OLYMPIA, Washington (January 9, 2018)—Today, Governor Inslee introduced a carbon pricing bill that would hasten the state’s transition to clean energy, support much-needed water and forest projects, and provide economic assistance for communities disproportionately impacted by climate change.
“Audubon Washington has been a vocal supporter of climate action at the legislature, and at the ballot, that takes swift and effective action to reduce carbon pollution, the number one threat to birds,” said Gail Gatton, executive director of Audubon Washington. “The Governor’s proposal is a strong and viable approach. Climate change won’t wait. Our legislature must take urgent action on climate change this session.”
