Instructor Bio:

Ashwini Sadekar, founder of The Color Academy, is a multifaceted artist and dedicated teacher. Her tripod background of engineering, art, and yoga combine in her holistic creative practice. She was born in India and now lives in Issaquah, Washington, and her distinctive artistry stems from this dual cultural heritage. Deeply influenced by the rich culture of architecture, dance, music, and colors of West-Central India, she also celebrates a deep bond with the Pacific Northwest's natural beauty. With a brain for tech and an eye for art, she combines intellect with expression, logic, and spirituality. Ashwini is a graduate of the Gage Academy of Art and a Carleton University alum with an Electronics Engineering Masters. Evident in her meticulous work is her study of traditional western European oil painting, with leading teachers Steve Huston, Charles Miano, Camille Przewodek, and Kimberly Trowbridge.

Her prismatic paintings achieve a delicate balance between impressionism and realism and draw viewers into her creative universe. As a meditator and yoga teacher, holistic practices form the core of her creative process. Ashwini blends visual arts with mindful living, crafting joyful paintings in her studio while leading wellness yoga programs at the University of Washington in Seattle.
