2006: Priorities for a Healthy Washington
Beginning in 2003, the Washington State
Audubon Conservation Committee (WSACC) signed on to a slate
of environmental legislative priorities, jointly crafted by
17 conservation groups around Washington.

This “Environmental Agenda”
allowed strength through unity and numbers when we presented
our positions to elected officials at all levels, especially
to the state legislators in Olympia. In 2005, the title was
changed to “Priorities
for a Healthy Washington” to better reflect the
vital role the environment plays in human health.
In addition to statewide conservation
community's agenda, Audubon advocates for its own bird-conservation
priorities each year that relate more directly to our mission
to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, focusing on birds,
other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity
and the earth’s biological diversity.
