Audubon's Washington's 2007 Policy and Budget Priorities

The Washington State Audubon Conservation Committee has selected the following legislative priorities for the 2007 legislative session. For more information on each of these priorities please read the current issue of Bird's Eye View.

Policy Priorities:

  • Conserve Washington's Forest
  • Keep our working lands safe from sprawl
  • $100 Million for Wildlife and Recreation Program
  • Save Our Sound

Budget Priorities:

Natural Heritage Program at the Department of Natural Resources
$700,000 - Operating

Wind Power guidelines & New Energy Technologies at the Department of Fish and Wildlife
$300,000 - Operating

Upland Wildlife Assessment at the Department of Natural Resources
$1.5 Million

Nature Tourism Infrastructure for 2010 Olympics at the Department of Fish and Wildlife
$350,000 - Operating
$500,000 - Capital
