Tim Cullinan, Science and Bird Conservation Director
Tim is a professional wildlife biologist whose primary areas of expertise are forest ecology, ornithology, and the ecology and conservation of migratory birds. He is the author of Important Bird Areas of Washington, and Audubon Washington’s recently published State of the Birds report. Before moving to Washington’s Olympic Peninsula eighteen years ago, Tim conducted research on ruffed grouse, Canada geese, and forest songbirds in the Midwest and Northeast. He is currently leading Washington’s Important Bird Areas program, participating in a statewide review of forest practices regulations affecting wildlife, and working to improve siting standards for wind power facilities. He has a BS in zoology from Ohio State University, and an MS in environmental and forest biology from the State University of New York/Syracuse.
