 Powell
Jones, Education Coordinator, Dungeness River Audubon Center
Powell became a full-time Audubon employee in March 2004,
responsible for the continued development of educational programs
at the Dungeness River Audubon Center. Before joining Audubon’s
staff, he served first with the Forest Service as a river
ranger and naturalist/interpreter in southeast Alaska, and
second as an environmental educator with the Dungeness center.
Born and raised in Sequim, he holds a bachelor’s degree
in geography and environmental science from Central Washington
University. Powell is active in the Olympic Peninsula Audubon
Society and serves the editor of the River Center Foundation
newsletter, River Current.
