Nina Carter, Executive Director
In January 2005, Nina took over as executive director of Audubon Washington, the state field office of National Audubon. She began with Audubon Washington in November 2001 as policy director, a role in which she worked directly with Washington state's 26 affiliated Audubon societies to craft public policy that protects our natural environment. Nina's background includes more than 21years of experience in public policy and environmental issues; she worked for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Washington Department of Ecology, Office of Marine Safety, and Washington State Parks and Recreation. She served as an Olympia city councilwoman, and was an adjunct professor in Environmental Studies at the Evergreen State College. In her career she has analyzed, drafted and/or implemented state policies on oil spill prevention, response and clean up, non-point source pollution, environmental education, salmon recovery, air and water quality, solid waste, and growth management. Nina has extensive experience working with non-profit organizations, industry leaders, and state government agencies, and she is an experienced manager of staff and budgets. She received a BA in both economics and labor studies, and a Master’s degree in public administration from Evergreen State.

Contact Nina via e-mail or by phone 360-786-8020, or cell phone 360-789-0792.
