Chris Millow, Teacher, Naturalist

Chris attributes his vibrant conservation ethic to his early and continual exposure to nature. He grew up in Massachusetts: exploring beaches, swimming in rivers, kayaking salt marshes, and building forts in the forest.

Armed with a degree in wildlife conservation from the University of Delaware, Chris worked all over as a field technician - with shorebirds in Massachusetts, ants in Ecuador, seabirds in Alaska, quail in New Jersey, and sea turtles in Guatemala. In Seattle, he’s been an environmental educator with Seattle Public Schools and a fisheries biologist in the Cedar River watershed.

In his spare time, he volunteers as a beach naturalist with the Seattle Aquarium and heads outdoors as much as possible – hiking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. His current goals are to learn more about native plants and improve his birding-by-ear skills – and meet everyone who comes out to enjoy Seward Park.

Email Chris or call 206-652-2444 ext. 105.
