Bob Boekelheide, Director, Dungeness River Audubon Center
Bob became director and education coordinator of the Dungeness River Audubon Center in September 2001. He holds a BA in biology from California State University, Sacramento, and an MS in ecology from the University of California, Davis. A wildlife biologist for 13 years, he studied the reproductive biology of seabirds and marine mammals in Antarctica, Alaska, and California, including several years on the Farallon Islands near San Francisco. He taught high school science – biology, marine science, and environmental studies – for 14 years, most recently in Port Angeles, WA. He has been active in the Yakima Valley and Olympic Peninsula Audubon Societies as bird sightings editor and bird count compiler, and is a member of the Washington Bird Records Committee. His responsibilities at the center include developing and delivering programs and maintaining the facilities at Railroad Bridge Park in Sequim, Washington.
