HABITAT: |
USFS trail of lowland alder wetlands to higher-elevation cedar and fir forest. |
| BIRDING: | Hone birding-by-ear skills as forest birds migrate north to summer habitat. Western Tanagers; Wilson’s, Yellow-rumped, MacGillivray’s, Orange-crowned, and Townsend’s Warblers; Varied, Swainson’s, and Hermit Thrushes; Black-headed Grosbeaks; Chestnut-backed Chickadees; and Blue Grouse may be present. Red Crossbills and Evening Grosbeaks can sometimes be abundant. White-winged Crossbills occur some years. |
