HABITAT:
2,683-acre park w/ mountain lookouts, lakes, coniferous and deciduous forests, saltwater coves, and rocky tidepools.
BIRDING:
On saltwater, watch for Harlequin Ducks, Double-crested and Pelagic Cormorants, Glaucous-winged Gulls, w/ Bald Eagles and Great Blue Herons along the shoreline. Common Loons and Mew Gulls come in winter. Great Horned, Western Screech, Northern Pygmy, and Barred Owls live in uplands all year. Also seen are Red-breasted Sapsuckers and Pileated Woodpeckers.

8 miles of trails start at day-use area.
ACCESS:
From I-5, take exit 250 (Hwy 11/Chuckanut Dr). Turn west onto Old Fairhaven Pkwy. Drive 1.3 miles. Turn left onto 12thSt/ Hwy 11/Chuckanut Dr. Drive 4.9 miles. Turn right (west) into main park entrance. Chuckanut Drive is one of Puget Sound’s most dramatic scenic byways.
