HABITAT:
209-acre city park of conifer forest, freshwater wetlands, and deciduous riparian area.
BIRDING:
Watch for American Dippers below the falls. Steller’s Jays, Chestnut-backed Chickadees, Barred and Great Horned Owls; and Hairy, Downy and Pileated Woodpeckers inhabit coniferous forest, as well as Yellow-rumped Warblers during spring and summer. By Scudder Pond, look for Wood Ducks, Hooded Mergansers, Green and Great Blue Herons, Black-crowned Night-Herons, Virginia Rails, and Soras.

Short path from parking lot leads to Whatcom Falls, w/ 0.5-mile path on to Scudder Pond Preserve. Park has 5 miles of trails
ACCESS:
From I-5, take exit 253 (Lakeway Dr). Turn east onto Lakeway Dr. Drive 1.3 miles. Turn left (north) into park and drive 0.3 mile to end of parking lot.
