HABITAT: Rails-to-Trails route through town of Concrete lined w/ alder, big-leaf maple, western red cedar, and Douglas-fir.
BIRDING:
Great site for families and beginners, offering close views of Western Tanagers, Red-eyed Vireos, Swainson’s Thrushes, Violet-green Swallows, American Goldfinches, Winter Wrens, and Willow and Pacific-slope Flycatchers. Song and White-crowned Sparrows may also be present.
VIEWING:
Trail begins at west side of E St. Birding is great w/in the first 4 miles, which are partially shaded and level. Best birding is in the morning; avoid summer heat, and mid-day Hwy 20 traffic.
ACCESS:
From Hwy 20 at milepost 89, turn north onto E St. Immediately turn right onto Railroad St. Park in Skagit Trail parking area at the Concrete Senior Center.
