| BIRDING: | Fall through spring, watch for Varied Thrushes, White-breasted and Red-breasted Nuthatches, Spotted Towhees, Brown Creepers, Song Sparrows, and Chestnut-backed and Mountain Chickadees. Also in winter, White-headed Woodpeckers can be found in woods by the water. Scan the lake for Common Loons, Horned and Pied-billed Grebes, and Buffleheads. |
VIEWING: |
Walk up creek from boat launch for sightings of American Dippers. Continue up path 0.25 mile to bridge to see forest birds. For waterfowl, walk east from picnic area past tent camping to piers. Avoid summer crowds. |

From Hwy 97A at milepost 223, turn west onto Hwy 971. Drive 9.2 miles. Turn right and drive to park entrance on left. |
