HABITAT:
USFS road turnout overlooking riparian and post-fire coniferous forest.
BIRDING: Most notable species is Lewis’s Woodpecker. Others include songbirds, woodpeckers, and birds of prey.
VIEWING:
Scan shrubby riparian edge as well as high hills. Lewis’s Woodpeckers nest in burned snags left from 1994 fire. (Stay on road easement.)
ACCESS:
From Hwy 97A at milepost 214.2, turn west onto Entiat River Rd. Drive 10.8 miles. Turn right (north) onto Mud Creek Rd. Drive 1.1 miles to turnout.
