5,000-acre USFS area w/ extremely large stand of ponderosa pine; also coniferous/deciduous forest and riparian area. |
| BIRDING: | Used by 200+ bird species, site is one of eastern Washington’s best rare-bird locations. Rarities, mostly seen in summer and early fall, include Sabine’s, Mew, and Laughing Gulls; Arctic Terns, Green Herons, Yellow-crowned Night-Herons, and Magnolia Warblers. Watch for Bald Eagles, Common Loons, American and Eurasion (winter) Wigeons, Cinnamon and Green-winged Teal, and Wood Ducks. Also possible are Eastern and Western Kingbirds, Gray Catbirds, Downy Woodpeckers, Cedar Waxwings; and Violet-green, Barn, and Tree Swallows. |

Bird watch from Wenatchee River pedestrian bridge, w/ views of Osprey nest on adjacent bridge. A 0.5-mile trail leads through wetlands to a lagoon. Three other trails run though family-friendly park. |

Access: From Hwy 2/97 North at milepost 119.3, take exit (east) to WA Apple Visitor Center/Olds Station/State Patrol. Turn right (south) onto Euclid Ave. Drive 0.5 mile. Veer left on Euclid Ave. Drive 0.7 mile. From park entrance, turn right into first parking lot. |
